A Costly Bailout

When a government lawyer told Martin to stop the cover-up, Martin fired him.  The lawyer sued for wrongful termination, but why would HackMan care?  The settlement and legal fees didn't cost him a dime- he charged that $2.4 million bailout to Missouri taxpayers!

A million here, $2.4 million there...

HackMan? Forced to resign?  Never! So said Governor Blunt-even though HackMan's inappropriate conduct cost Missouri taxpayers over $2.4 million, including a settlement paid to the whistle blower that HackMan illegally fired.1

What's next, a lawbreaker's bailout?

Illegally deleting emails illegally is...well, illegal.  When a government lawyer pointed that out to the delete-key-happy HackMan, HackMan fired him (which was also illegal).  That's a lot of lawbreaking.  No wonder legal fees reached $2.4 million. 2

What's yours is HackMan's...to spend!

Everybody likes to save a buck.  That's why HackMan passed his personal bailout onto Missouri taxpayers.  He was the one who illegally fired a government whistle blower. But we're the ones who paid.3
